Your mission

Space is getting crowded, and satellite collisions are becoming a serious threat. At OKAPI:Orbits, we are developing the first-ever collision avoidance and frequency coordination framework in collaboration with leading international space debris scientists.

Your mission is to ensure that our services are reliable, intuitive, and high-performing, accessible via a seamless API and a modern, well-designed web front-end.

Your code will help prevent satellite collisions, ensuring the sustainability of space operations for years to come. You’ll develop software that protects assets worth billions and contributes directly to the future of space safety.

Our platform is used by commercial satellite operators managing large constellations and national & international space agencies.

Please note: This position is limited until end of 2026, with the possibility of extension.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Help develop and maintain web applications that support OKAPI:Orbits’ space safety platform.
Contribute to software projects for space agencies and commercial satellite operators.
Collaborate with senior developers and learn about software architecture and technical decision-making.
Assist scientists and engineers in building innovative tools for space operations.

Your profile

Must-Haves:

A degree (B.Sc. or higher) in Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent training as an IT specialist.
Experience with Angular development.
Knowledge of front-end testing.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Based in Germany with a valid work permit.
Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice-to-Haves:

Knowledge of React
Familiarity with Cesium.js or other geospatial tools.
Experience in the aerospace sector.

Deine Aufgabe ist es, sicherzustellen, dass unsere Services zuverlässig, intuitiv und leistungsstark sind, erreichbar über eine nahtlose API und ein modernes, durchdachtes Web-Frontend.

Dein Code trägt dazu bei, Satellitenkollisionen zu verhindern und somit die Nachhaltigkeit von Weltraumoperationen langfristig zu sichern. Du entwickelst Software, die Vermögenswerte im Milliardenbereich schützt und direkt zur Sicherheit im All beiträgt.

Unsere Plattform wird von kommerziellen Satellitenbetreibern mit großen Konstellationen sowie von nationalen und internationalen Raumfahrtorganisationen genutzt.

Hinweis: Diese Position ist zunächst bis Ende 2026 befristet, mit der Option auf Verlängerung.

Deine Aufgaben

Hilf dabei, Webanwendungen zu entwickeln und zu pflegen, die unsere Space Safety Plattform bei OKAPI:Orbits unterstützen.
Arbeite an Softwareprojekten für Raumfahrtagenturen und kommerzielle Satellitenbetreiber mit.
Kooperiere mit erfahrenen Entwickler:innen und lerne mehr über Softwarearchitektur und technische Entscheidungsprozesse.
Unterstütze Wissenschaftler:innen und Ingenieur:innen beim Aufbau innovativer Werkzeuge für den Einsatz im Weltraum.

Dein Profil

Must-Haves:

Ein abgeschlossenes Studium (B.Sc. oder höher) in Informatik oder einem verwandten Fachgebiet oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung als Fachinformatiker:in.
Erfahrung in der Entwicklung mit Angular.
Kenntnisse im Bereich Frontend-Testing.
Ausgeprägte Problemlösungskompetenz und die Fähigkeit, selbstständig zu arbeiten.
Wohnsitz in Deutschland sowie eine gültige Arbeitserlaubnis.
Fließende Englischkenntnisse in Wort und Schrift.

Nice-to-Haves:

Kenntnisse in React.
Erfahrung mit Cesium.js oder anderen geospatialen Tools.
Vorerfahrung in der Luft- und Raumfahrtbranche.
