Der Weltraum wird zunehmend voller, und Satellitenkollisionen stellen eine ernsthafte Bedrohung dar. Bei OKAPI:Orbits entwickeln wir Software, um den Weltraum sicher zu halten. Werde Teil unseres Teams als Werkstudent:in und gestalte die Zukunft der KI bei OKAPI:Orbits mit. Deine Mission ist es, innovative KI-gestützte Produktideen zu erforschen, zu prototypisieren und zu validieren. Du arbeitest an schnellen MVP-Entwicklungen mit und hilfst uns dabei, neue Potenziale für unsere Services, interne Prozesse oder komplett neue Geschäftsfelder zu identifizieren.

Deine Aufgaben

Entwicklung funktionsfähiger MVPs für KI-basierte Features oder Tools – von der Prompt-Gestaltung bis hin zu Backend-/Frontend-Prototypen
Bewertung und Benchmarking von KI-Modellen für konkrete Anwendungsfälle
Experimentieren mit LLMs, APIs und Vektordatenbanken
Entwicklung und Test von Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Pipelines für interne und produktbezogene Anwendungsfälle
Zusammenarbeit mit Produkt- und Engineering-Teams, um Experimente praxisnah auszurichten
Ergebnispräsentation, Dokumentation von Erkenntnissen und Ableitung von Empfehlungen für weitere Entwicklungsschritte

Dein Profil

Du bist in einem Bachelor- oder Masterstudiengang der Informatik, Data Science oder eines verwandten Fachs an einer deutschen Hochschule eingeschrieben
Praktische Erfahrung in Python
Vertraut mit modernen KI-Tools und -Bibliotheken (z. B. LangChain, OpenAI API, Hugging Face)
Neugierde und Kreativität bei der Anwendung von KI zur Lösung realer Probleme
Eigenständige Arbeitsweise und die Fähigkeit, Ergebnisse sowohl technischen als auch nicht-technischen Beteiligten verständlich zu vermitteln

Your mission

Space is getting crowded, and satellite collisions are becoming a serious threat. At OKAPI:Orbits, we develop software to keep space safe. Join us as a working student to shape the future of AI at OKAPI:Orbits.

Your mission is to help us explore, prototype, and validate innovative AI-driven product ideas. You will contribute to fast-paced MVP development and help us uncover opportunities where artificial intelligence can improve our services, internal processes, or open up entirely new business lines.

Your tasks and responsibilities

Build functional MVPs for AI-based features or tools, from prompt design to backend/frontend prototypes
Evaluate and benchmark AI models for specific use cases
Experiment with LLMs, APIs, and vector databases
Develop and test Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines for internal and product-related use cases
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to align experiments with real-world needs
Present results, document findings, and suggest next steps for further development or validation

Your profile

You are enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field at a university in Germany
Hands-on experience with Python
Familiar with modern AI tools and libraries
Curiosity and creativity in applying AI to solve real-world problems
Able to work independently and share your results clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
