Senior Full-Stack Web-Developer for Space Applications

Your mission
Space is getting crowded, and satellite collisions are becoming a serious threat. At OKAPI:Orbits, we are developing the first-ever collision avoidance and frequency coordination framework in collaboration with leading international space debris scientists.

Your mission is to ensure that our services are reliable, intuitive, and high-performing, accessible via a seamless API and a modern, well-designed web frontend.

Your code will help prevent satellite collisions, ensuring the sustainability of space operations for years to come. You’ll develop software that protects assets worth billions and contributes directly to the future of space safety.

Our platform is used by commercial satellite operators managing large constellations and national & international space agencies.

Your tasks and responsibilities
  • Develop & maintain the web applications of OKAPI:Orbits’ SSA platform.
  • Work on software projects for space agencies & commercial satellite operators.
  • Engage in software architecture discussions and make key technical decisions.
  • Support scientists in developing innovative space solutions.

  • MERN Stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js)
  • Next.js
  • Docker & Kubernetes
  • GitLab CI/CD Pipelines
  • Cesium.js (optional, for 3D geospatial visualization)

Your profile
Must-Haves:
  • A degree (B.Sc. or higher) in Computer Science or a related field OR equivalent training as an IT specialist.
  • Strong experience with MERN stack development.
  • Strong experience with Next.js.
  • Knowledge of Docker, CI/CD, and front-end testing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Based in the European Economic Area (EEA) with a valid work permit.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Nice-to-Haves:
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with Cesium.js or other geospatial tools.
  • Experience in the aerospace sector.
